ARLINGTON (AP) – The Cotton Bowl is an appropriate season-ender for 11th-ranked Kansas State and coach Bill Snyder.

When the Wildcats were first in the Cotton Bowl 15 years ago, it was a watershed moment for the long-struggling program. They went again at the end of the 2000 season, during a stretch of six 11-win seasons in seven years before Snyder’s brief retirement.

And now he’s back in his second turnaround at K-State.

Seventh-ranked Arkansas is back at Cowboys Stadium, where the Razorbacks had a second-half comeback three months ago. Their only losses are against No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama.

The Cotton Bowl matchup of 10-2 teams Friday night is the only non-BCS bowl with two teams ranked in the top 10 of the BCS standings.
