DALLAS (AP) – The loss by Kansas State over the weekend helped upend the national championship picture. It also set up potential chaos in the Big 12.
Kansas State could still win the Big 12, but the Wildcats’ 52-24 loss at Baylor on Saturday night by and large ended their chance of playing for the national title. And it set up the possibility for a four-way tie in the conference between Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Texas.
If that happens, all would be declared Big 12 co-champions.
There would still be scenarios that would have to be settled to determine who would get the league’s BCS berth in the Fiesta Bowl, if not in the championship game.
